Once the domain of goofy teens, selfies are now everywhere. The ubiquity of cell phones, photo apps and social media has lead to terabytes worth of selfies being uploaded every day. Whole genres of selfies have emerged. There are protest selfies, drone selfies (cameras attached to mini drones) comedy selfies, butt selfies… the list goes on and on. Our interest is in a particular stream of selfie culture; one focused on teens, narcissism, and their obsession with self-created and curated fame.
